Interim refund mechanism for those who haven’t receive their fleet cards
An interim refund mechanism for eligible logistics vehicles that have been approved under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) 2.0 that have not yet received their fleet cards
have been introduced.
The temporary facility will reimburse the difference between the diesel fuel’s new retail price of RM3.35 per litre and the SKDS 2.0 price of RM2.15 per litre, said Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan.
“The government wants the targeted diesel subsidy scheme’s implementation to run smoothly and will therefore continue to monitor the logistics sector’s developments because with SKDS 2.0’s implementation, there is no reason for logistics businesses to raise prices and consequently burden the rakyat.
“The refunds are a temporary measure set up by the Government to assist logistics service providers from being affected by the change in diesel fuel’s retail price,” he said in a statement.
The logistics vehicle owners have been told to apply for the reimbursement from 1 July 2024 through the Budi Madani portal.
Receipts of their diesel purchases must be retained for audit purposes.
The refund is only meant for those who have received approval from the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry via SKDS 2.0 by end of this month.
“This interim reimbursement mechanism is intended to cover the additional expenditure incurred until the fleet card is received, up to a maximum of two months, whichever is earlier.”
Application for the fleet card needs to be done via the MySubsidi page on the ministry’s website.
