Meetings with Pas was G2G

Transport Minister Anthony Loke clarified that the meetings held with Pas were not political but was on a G2G basis. He also confirmed that it did include the agenda of inviting Pas into the coalition government.

“No. There have been no discussions about PAS joining the unity government. I think the media may have misunderstood what Fahmi said.

Fahmi said there were many discussions. Those discussions were between the federal and state governments,” he said in reference to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

“I have also met with PAS leaders. Did I invite them to join the unity government? No. The discussions were not political but G2G, meaning government-to-government, between the federal and state governments,” he said yesterday, Bernama reported.

Two days ago, Fahmi neither confirmed nor denied the rumour about Pas joining the unity government that is led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Pas leaders too have denied the rumour of them ditching the opposition coalition.
