Confirmed, Firdaus Wong is under police probe

Two lawyers have confirmed that the police is investigating Chinese Muslim convert proselytiser Firdaus Wong Wai Hung under Section 505(c) of the Penal Code.

“We are pleased to inform the public that the police have, finally, opened an investigation paper against Firdaus Wong under section 505(c) of the Penal Code,” said lawyers Rajesh Nagarajan and Sachpreetraj Singh in a short statement today.

“We hope that justice will be served and that Firdaus Wong will be charged and convicted for his crimes against society.”

Section 505(c) of the Penal Code criminalises the act of making statement to incite any class or community of persons to commit any offence against any other class or community of persons.

If found guilty, Wong faces two years of imprisonment or fine or both.

Wong’s underhanded tactics

The confirmation by the lawyers was made following a police report lodged by NGO activist Arumugam Dorasamy better known as Arun Dorasamy yesterday.

The police report was filed at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters.

Wong had come under the spotlight recently after a TikTok video of his went viral. He had advised someone on how to convert non-Muslim school-going minors.

Wong explained how a non-Muslim child can convert secretly, pray secretly and even keep the conversion a secret from the non-Muslim child’s parents.

Many groups had come about stating that the underhanded methods explained by Wong was against the Federal Constitution.
