Fadhlina: SJKT Sungai Bakap will be a reality
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek gave her word that the long stalled construction of SJKT Sungai Bakap that was supposed to be completed would be revived for the Indian community.
“We know this school has been stalled for so long, so there is a long list of processes that need to be completed, including the land and debt issues but we are definitely taking full responsibility she said at the “Program Sembang Durian YBs near Sungai Bakap police station yesterday.
Fadhlina who is also Nibong Tebal MP has allocated RM50,000 for the construction start-up pf the school.
She also said that a special committee have been established to monitor the school construction.
“We have clarified this issue before the election and have been committed since last year to ensure this can be completed.
“With the support we receive form all parties, including the state and district education departments and parents, I don’t think the Indian community need to protest because this is for their benefit too and the school must be part of the education agenda for the Indian community, she said.
Opposition leaning party, Urimai had raised the issue of this school via social media as they campaigned against PH-BN.
The by-election tomorrow pits PKR’s Dr Joohari Ariffin of PH-BN against Pas’ Abidin Ismail of PN.
Indians make up about 17% of Sungai Bakap voters.
