Suspect in Esha’s death under remand

A suspect who is believed to have threatened TikTok influencer Rajeswary Appahu have been detained.

Rajeswary, better known as Esha, passed away on 5 July.

“On 8 July at 1.45am police detained a 35-year old woman at a resort in Rawang, Selangor.

“She is currently held under remand until July 10 to aid police investigation,” said Sentul district police chief, ACP Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari via a media statement.

On that note, he also adviced public against uploading any article or content that can spark anger in the public.

In the same statement, Ahmad confirmed that the police are investigating Tik Tok account holders Dulal Brothers and Alphaquinnsha for defamation and threats made against Esha.

The case is being investigated under section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998 for uttering insulting statements and section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for disparaging behaviour.

Earlier today, Communication Minister Fahmi Fadzil warned the public against speculating about Esha’s death.
