JSSEZ offers development opportunity
China Press and Sin Chew Daily headlined that Penang Port Commission chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin said that the Pulau Kapas ferry, that capsized at sea early yesterday morning, is beyond repair due to its severe damage.
The ferry is old therefore, the commission has decided to decommission this iconic old ferry.
Guang Ming Daily reported that plans to convert the Pulau Kapas ferry into a floating restaurant fell through due to the lessee’s non-compliance, leading to the termination of the lease agreement in February 2023.
The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) urged the government to increase funding and provide incentives to assist the manufacturing industry in transforming into smart factories, in order to achieve one of the goals of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030), reported Nanyang Daily.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said that the social media platform “X,” formerly known as Twitter, has the lowest compliance with Malaysian laws among social media platforms, with only a 25% compliance rate, front-paged Kwong Wah Daily.

The daily added that women and children face severe harassment and bullying.
It is time for the government to enforce laws and oversee these issues, said the daily.
