Opposition leader’s son’s corruption trial set to be heard in March-April 2025

The corruption case involving the son of Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin – Faisal Hamzah – would be heard in March and April next year.

A total of 15 days in that month was allocated by the Sessions Court.

Judge Rosli Ahmad fixed March 24 to 28 and April 14 to 18 and 21 to 25 as trial dates.

Faisal is facing the trial for allegedly receiving RM100,000 in bribes from Izmir Abd Hamid to secure the appointment of two companies – Rimba Merpati Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Per My Solutions – as marketing consultants for Hei Tech Padu Berhad.

Hei Tech had obtained a RM33 million tender by the Companies Commission of Malaysia for the supply, rental, implementation, training, support and maintenance of IT security infrastructure.

The trial documents would be finalised during a case management on Feb 21.

The prosecution is expected to bring forth 20 witnesses.

The trial was previously rescheduled because the judge was transferred.
