Use party channels to air your grouses, PKR sec-gen tells vocal Hassan Karim

Newly minted PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh told her vocal party colleague Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim to air issues within the party channels before airing it out in the public.

She felt that Hassan may have not utilised the party’s internal channels.

“Internal discussions are a more effective way to address issues, and the party stands ready to engage with Hassan to (resolve them),” Fuziah said, reported FMT.

“It’s okay to disagree, but we must balance between internal communication and going public,” said Fuziah, adding that public criticism can give an impression of disunity within PKR.

Hassan had, earlier this year, said that he was prepared to face any disciplinary action from PKR due to his outspoken views/

Fuziah clarified that there was no complaints filed against him at the party’s disciplinary committee.

Fuziah who is also Domestic Trade and Cost of Living deputy minister said that her call to Hassan was merely because she is focused on promoting dialogue and ensuring internal channels are properly utilised before issues are vented in public.

She added PKR values diversity of thought and has always been open to differing views among its members, but said the party discipline was paramount. Airing grievances publicly could damage this perception, she added.

Hassan, most recently, questioned the use of the SOSMA against GISBH followers and leaders and questioned the introduction of house arrest in Budget 2025 as a measure that would provide a leeway for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who is currently serving a reduced sentence in Kajang prison.
