UPKO to defend Kedamaian, eyes more seats than previous outing

Pakatan Harapan’s sole Sabah based component party, UPKO confirmed that it would be defending Kedamaian the sole state seat it won in the state polls in 2020.

The seat is currently held by the party president, Ewon Benedick who is also Penampang MP and the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister in the Cabinet.

In addition to that UPKO is also eyeing more seats that it previously contested.

Party information chief Peter Jr Naintin told Harapan Daily that UPKO is eyeing for more seats than it contested in the previously state polls.

“We are eyeing for 13 to 16 seats,” he said.

UPKO had previously contested 12 seats in the predominantly KDM majority constituencies.
