NGO activist cum alleged cyberbully slapped with another RM250,000 defamation suit
NGO activist and alleged cyberbully Joseph Prakash Sukumaran have been slapped with a defamation suit again, this time by his victim, Hemalatha Subramaniam, better known as Swashna for the amount of RM250,000.
Joseph who operates the TikTok account NGO PKIPN_Official had allegedly defamed Swashna via three video clips.
In the first video Joseph had implied that Swashna knew who was behind the death of influencer Rajeswary Appahu, better known as Esha. He tried to pressure her to attend his live session to and reveal the matter.
In the second video, Joseph claimed that Swashna and GHRF president S Shashi Kumar are willing to kill for their benefits. He also manipulated his conversations with Swashna
The third video was in reference to a press conference organised by GHRF in which Swashna had exposed the names of her cyberbullies, including Joseph Prakash.
Lawyer Rajesh Nagarajan of Raj & Sach, who is the legal counsel of Swashna said that his client wants all the defamatory videos deleted.
Joseph Prakash also must cease and desist from publishing and issuing further defamatory statements.
Other demands are as the following:
“An unconditional apology in writing and a retraction of all defamatory statements above or similar statements or similar statements made against our Clients in your Tik Tok account of NGO PKIPN_Official on the terms agreed upon by us on the behalf of our client.
Maintain and do not delete the apology on the TikTok account NGO PKIPN_Official.
“Provide our client a written undertaking that you shall refrain from further publishing the said defamatory statements or any such similar statements.”
