MBSA probes staff after viral video shows cigarette thrown from council vehicle
Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has launched an investigation into a staff member after a video showing a cigarette butt being thrown from a council vehicle went viral.
MBSA emphasizes that it will not compromise with any misconduct.
All employees must always comply with the rules, maintain the image of the public service and be ethical when carrying out their duties.
“In this regard, MBSA has taken note of the matter and this case has been referred to the MBSA Integrity Division for further investigation for appropriate action in accordance with the Shah Alam City Council Officers (Conduct & Discipline) Rules 2023,” it said in a statement today.
MBSA added that it remains committed to continously strengthening the integrity and professionalism of its employees.
The video, which circulated on social media, showed a council vehicle stopping at a traffic light before a hand is seen extending from a rear window and flicking a cigarette butt onto the road.
The clip drew heavy criticism from social media users.
