Sundarajoo remains outside PHEB but coordinates on behalf of state government

Penang housing and environment exco Datuk Seri Sundarajoo does not make it into the Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB) but he has been tasked to coordinate on behalf of the state government.

He would be coordinating matters related to PHEB to the state government, said Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow who announced the new line up of board commissioners today.

Sundarajoo had previously quit the board.

RSN Rayer retained the chairmanship of the board along with his vice chief Senator Dr A Lingeshwaran.

Previously there were rumours stating that Rayer would be unseated by Sundarajoo.

The new line up of commissioners, effective for a year from today, is the biggest group of commissioners at 19.

Previously the board was made up of 11 to 12 commissioners.

A number of veterans who had been in PHEB previously have also been included in the line up, which contributed to a bigger number. They are the ones who are in their 80s.

In addition, there are two female commissioners as well.
