‘Akmal a clear and present danger to national unity, harmony, justice and rule of law’

Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng who is also DAP national advisor urged the Home Ministry to take action against the rabble rousing Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhammad Akmal Salleh since he was threat to “national unity, harmony, justice and rule of law”.

“Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh should be condemned for not only trying to interfere in the administration of justice and unduly pressuring the Attorney-General chambers but also for bullying a minority elderly Malaysian who had apologised and was also arrested by police for his unintentional mistake.”

Akmal had threatened to stage a protest outside the hardware store in Kepala Batas, Penang, on Thursday if the shop owner was not charged by tomorrow.

“Why is there a need for Akmal to launch provocative and sensitive protests when action is already taken by the authorities? Further Akmal practices double standards and selective persecution in not taking the same harsh and brutal tactics against government agencies, Malay political parties like PAS or even his own UMNO Youth Terengganu for making similar mistakes with the Malaysian flag.

“Akmal must be stopped and the Home Ministry should act against him for violating the Rukun Negara, and posing a clear and present danger to national unity, harmony, the administration of justice and rule of law.”

He said this following Akmal’s threat to the Attorney General’s Chambers to charge a Malaysian Chinese businessman who had hung the Jalur Gemilang upside by mistake.

Akmal has also said that he would organise a rally to teach the businessman a lesson.

Earlier today, DAP secretary general Anthony Loke also condemned Akmal’s action and said that the DAP would be putting a giant Jalur Gemilang at the concerned business premises in Penang.
